Australian-born Andrew Armatas is an executive coach and practicing psychologist with a background experience in brief counselling, employee assistance programmes (EAPs) and corporate mental health. He studied psychology and received his Master’s degree from the University of Hartford (U.S). He received a further post-graduate degree in the applications of hypnosis from the University of Sheffield (UK) and became one fo the first group of experts with a postgraduate specialization in hypnosis internationally.

His expertise lies in coaching hypnosis, mental training and related pratices in the development of people’s potential. He coined the term ‘coaching hypnosis’ and published the first paper on the subject in 2009. His ‘uncommon’ expertise has become an asset which he brings to his professional workshops and to his services aiming at change and development.

His first coaching project contributed to the client company’s inclusion in the ‘Top 20 Best Workplaces’ for the first time in its history. His move to Greece (following Australia, the US and the UK) was followed by the development and management of one of the nation’s first EAP companies as well as a goal-oriented, stress management group coaching service for working women through EQUAL (an EU co-funded programme). The format has since been adopted by many companies carrying out similar projects.

He is an award winning author and acts as an advisor & scientific editor to one of the largest publishing companies in the country. He has served as a Best Practices assessor, as an external assessor to coaching students and as an external supervisor. Andrew also serves as an advisor and trainer to the National Network of Workplace Health Promotion, the National Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Sciences as well as the National Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine. 

He planned the first disaster management programme for the Athens Olympic Games 2004 and coordinated the first International Coaching Project on strategies to help global employees tackle their challenges. 

Andrew is a Founder Member of the International Society for Coaching Psychology and holds memberships to additional professional bodies such as the International Positive Psychology Association (Charter Member), the International Society of Hypnosis (Full Voting Member), the Association for Coaching (Full Member) and the British Society of Clinical & Academic Hypnosis (Accredited Member).

He has served professionals from diverse settings including the retail and bank sector, telecommunications and IT staff, hospital and hotel personnel, call center staff, self-defence trainers, security professionals, educational personnel and parents. He has delivered internationally to countries such as England, Romania, Australia, Greece, Germany, Austria, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, Bahrain and Iran.
